Emily J. Mothmiller
Emily J. Mothmiller is an Associate Attorney with Hegemann & Zimmerman, Co., L.P.A., where she engages in the general practice of law, representing individuals in a variety of legal matters. Her particular areas of interest include domestic relations (divorce, dissolution, custody, adoption, child support, contempt and paternity).
Emily is also an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Shelby County. As an Assistant Prosecutor, Emily represents the Shelby County Department of Job and Family Services - Children Services Division, in cases of alleged child abuse, neglect and dependency. In addition, Emily prosecutes juveniles who are charged criminally or as an unruly child, as well as truancy, traffic and other related matters.
Emily was admitted to the practice of law in Indiana in 2022 and Ohio in 2023. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, focusing on Marketing and Communications from the University of Dayton, graduating cum laude. Emily earned her law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law. While in law school, Emily was involved in the Leadership Honors Program, Honors Council, and the Federal Bar Association.
Emily is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, Shelby County Bar Association and Miami County Bar Association, whereas she is Secretary and Executive Director. Emily serves as a Board Member for Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Darke and Shelby County and is involved with the Shelby County Chamber Leadership Program.
